The Location report displays each master location, followed by the individuals and marriages that use them.
The Location report is reached by clicking the Other Reports button on the Report tab of the Ribbon bar and then choosing Location Report.
Following is a description of each report option:
Locations to Print
You can choose to print All Locations in the Master Location List, or Only Tagged Locations, or Only Untagged Locations. (Locations can be tagged and untagged from the Master Location List. This can be displayed by selecting Master Lists from the View tab of the Ribbon bar and then choosing Locations. See Master Locations List more information.)
What to Print
Master Location and who uses them-Displays the individuals and marriages that use each location.
Include specific events - Includes each specific event using the location
Include event date - Prints the dates of the events.
Include age of individual at each event - Prints the age of the person when the event occurred. Note: This option is only available if you are using the Deluxe Edition.
Master Locations and Summary Counts-Displays how many times each master location was cited.
Exclude Living Individuals-Omits location information for individuals who are marked as Living.
Exclude Unused Locations-Omits locations that are not being used anywhere in the family file.
Show Long Location Name-Includes the long location name on the report.
Show Short Location Name-Includes the short location name on the report.
Dividing Lines-Draws a horizontal line drawn on the report between each location.
Include Shaded Title Box-Includes shading behind the location names making the report more readable.
Include RIN Numbers-Includes the Record ID numbers at the end of each name and marriage.
Include birth and death dates-Includes the birth and death date for all individuals following their names. Note: This option is only available if you are using the Deluxe Edition.
Include Latitude and Longitude-Includes the latitude and longitude values, if present.
Include Location Notes-Includes the note contents on the report.
Print [[Private]] text-Prints the portions of the notes and other fields that have been marked as private by enclosing them in double square brackets. [[ and ]]. When including private notes you can also choose to have the brackets removed.
Sort Order-Prints the report either in the standard left-to-right order or the current user-defined sort order.
Title-You can customize the report title if you would like to.
Lets you change the page margins, paper size, orientation and other page related settings.
Lets you change the page size before generating the report. You can also change the target printer and its specific settings.
You can specify the fonts you want to use when printing the different sections of the report.
Where to Send the Report
The report can be output to two formats. Make your choice by clicking on the appropriate option button in the lower right. The choices are:
Screen / Printer - Sends the report to either the Print Preview window or directly to your printer depending on whether you click the Preview or Print button.
PDF File - Generates the report, displays it in the Print Preview window and then creates an Adobe PDF (Portable Document File) file. This file can be viewed with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader and easily sent to other people by e-mail. (This feature is part of the Deluxe Edition only.)
Note: The report settings for the Location report are saved in a file called Location.usr in the [My Documents]\Legacy Family Tree\_AppData\Usr\ folder.
