File ID Number Report (Deluxe Edition Only)
There are four types of records in Legacy that accept a File ID#. These are Master Sources, Source Citation Details, To-Do items, and Media items (picture, sound, and video files). You can use these fields to create a filing system linking your family file records with printed source documentation, printed pictures, and other physical items that you want to store for the future.
The File ID Number Report lists all the numbers that you have in your family file and shows where they were used.

To generate the File ID Number Report:
1. Choose Other Reports from the Report tab of the Ribbon bar and then choose File IDs from the dropdown list.
2. Select the desired reports options (described below).
3. Click either Print or Preview to view the report.
Options
Include Shaded Header - Shades the header line for the four record types that can include File ID numbers.
Selects the types of file ID numbers to be included in the report.
Sort Order
Specifies the order in which the file ID numbers are arrange in the report.

Sort by record type first
Groups all the file ID numbers that are found in each particular record type together in the order selected. If this option is unchecked, all the file ID numbers from all the groups are sorted together and presented on the report.
Report Language
You can choose from different languages when generating the file ID number report. To select a language, click the Report Language button and choose the language file to be used when generating the report. There are many language files available. To reset the language selection back to the default value, click the Reset button.
Note: All the program-produced titles and subtitles and labels and all the dates will be translated but items such as user-enter titles and location won't be translated.
Report Title
Specifies the title to be printed at the top of each page of the report.
Page Setup
Click the Page Setup button to change page margins, print orientation, line spacing, paper size, border lines, heading and page numbering options, and footer options. See Page Setup for more information.
Printer Setup
Lets you change the page size before generating the report. You can also change the target printer and its specific settings.
Font Size
Click the Change Fonts button to select a different font or font size for the report. See Report Fonts for more information.
Save and Load
You can save and reload any set of report settings using the Save and Load buttons.
Where to Send the Report
The report can be output to two formats. Make your choice by clicking on the appropriate option button in the lower right. The choices are:
Screen / Printer - Sends the report to either the Print Preview window or directly to your printer depending on whether you click the Preview or Print button.
PDF File - Generates the report, displays it in the Print Preview window and then creates an Adobe PDF (Portable Document File) file. This file can be viewed with the free Adobe Acrobat Reader and easily sent to other people by e-mail. (This feature is part of the Deluxe Edition only.)
Printing
When you have set all the options, click either the Preview button to see an on-screen view of the report before it is actually printed, or click Print to have the report sent directly to the printer.
Note: The report settings for the File ID Number report are saved in a file called FileID.usr in the [My Documents]\Legacy Family Tree\_AppData\Usr\ folder.
