Legacy FamilySearch - Filter Options

The Filter Options screen is displayed when you are on the Legacy FamilySearch window and you click the Edit... link in the Current Filter section at the top of the My Legacy People list.

The Filter Options are used to determine who appears in the My Legacy People list on the Legacy FamilySearch screen.  This list contains the names of the group of people you are currently working on.  This list can include everyone in your family file or a smaller list of the ancestors or descendants of a starting person.  Or it can include all the people in your family file who are tagged with a certain tag number, or all the people who are at the end of lines.

Filter
Click the down arrow on the list box and choose the type of group you want to create for the list.  These include:
All Individuals - everyone in your family file.
Ancestor Line - all the ancestors of the starting person for a given number of generations.
Descendant Line - all the descendants of the starting person for a given number of generations.
Tag Value - all individuals who are tagged with a given tag number.
End of Line - all the individuals in your family file who are at the end of an ancestor or descendant line.  These are people for whom you will want to continue working to push the lines farther out.

Extra Filtering
All of the groups described above can have additional filtering applied to them:
Linked to FamilySearch - these are all the Legacy people in the filter group who are already linked to a person in FamilySearch.
Not linked to FamilySearch - these are all the Legacy people in the filter group who are not yet linked to a person in FamilySearch.
In Sync - these are the Legacy people in the filter group who have all their information in sync with the information in FamilySearch.
Not in Sync - these are the Legacy people in the filter group who do not have all their information in sync with the information in FamilySearch.
Possible duplicates - these are the Legacy people in the filter group who still have possible duplicates that need to be combined or rejected.
Linked to FamilySearch, not in Sync - these are the Legacy people in the filter group who are already linked to a person in FamilySearch but whose information is not all in sync yet.
Ordinances Complete - these are the Legacy people in the filter group who have all their LDS ordinances completed.
Ordinances in Progress - these are the Legacy people in the filter group who have one or more ordinance that is In Progress.
Ordinances needing more information - these are the Legacy people in the filter group who need more information in order to qualify for one or more ordinance.

Starting Person
If you are creating a group of ancestors or descendants, you must select a starting person.  By default, the starting person is whoever was the current Legacy person when you first started the Legacy FamilySearch feature.  You can change this person to whomever you want at any time.

To Change the Starting Person
There are two different ways to change the starting person.  The first is by using the 3-generation pedigree chart to navigate to the person.  If you click on any of the names of the ancestors in the mini-chart, that person will move down to the starting position.  To navigate to younger generations, click the left arrow to the left of the starting person.  When you do this a menu is displayed containing all the spouses and children of the current starting person.  Clicking on any of the names selects that person to move to the starting position.  You can continue to navigate up or down the line until you find the person you are looking for.

The second way to choose a new starting person is to click the Select person from List button.  This displays the Select a Person screen where you can choose someone in the list.  (See Legacy FamilySearch Select a Person for more information.)

When you have selected the desired filter, extra filter, and starting person, click OK to return to the main screen.  When you do, the list will be redisplayed with the new group.
