AutoSource Reminder

You are about to import new individuals from either a Legacy, GEDCOM or PAF file and you have not yet selected a Master Source to assign to each record.

You can either:
  • Add one source entry per record (in Unspecified) -  This option adds the source only once for each individual, placing the source citation in the Unspecified area.
  • Add source to all incoming fields that have information -  The option adds the source to each piece of information that is imported.  For example, if birth, death, and burial information is imported, the source citation is assigned to all three fields.

Make your choice by selecting the appropriate option button.
  •    Click Select a Master Source to display the Master Source List where you can select a source to cite.  (Or you can Add a new source and then cite it.)
  •    Click Don't Assign a Source to tell Legacy to skip the source assignment during this import.

    (See AutoSource for more information.)

If the AutoSource reminder has been turned off, there are two places where you can turn it back on if you want to:

    1.  Click the Customize button on the Options tab of the ribbon bar and then click on the 7. Sources option in the list on the left.  Scroll down to option 7.6 AutoSource and make sure the check box is selected.

    2.  Click the Customize button on the Options tab of the ribbon bar and then click on the 12. Other Settings option in the list on the left.  Scroll down to option 12.5 Message boxes and then click the Turn on or off Optional Reminder Messages button.  Now click the Questions tab and look for the Question to use an AutoSource when importing check box and make sure it is selected.
