Ancestral File
The Ancestral File was compiled by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was part of the collection of files called FamilySearch® found in over 2800 Family History Centers at church buildings in the United States, Canada, Europe, and the Pacific.
It was a compilation of genealogies contributed by thousands of people throughout the world. It is no longer being maintained or added to. Later the Pedigree Resource File took its place. Now, everything is done in FamilySearch. Legacy has a FamilySearch feature that lets you upload and download information to and from FamilySearch.
