Legacy FamilySearch

The FamilySearch integration feature in Legacy can be turned on or off.  This setting is reached by choosing Options > Customize > 1. General.  The Integrate with FamilySearch option is in 1.8 Family Search.

Legacy is fully integrated with the FamilySearch family tree website provided by the Family History department of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It is one of the most heavily visited genealogy sites on the Internet. Millions of people use FamilySearch resources to learn about their family history. FamilySearch access is free.

When FamilySearch integration is turned on, small icons appear at the end of the names on the Family and Pedigree Views to show if that person's information is synchronized with the information in FamilySearch.

These icons change to indicate the status of synchronization and temple work completion.  (See FamilySearch Icons for more information.)

The FamilySearch search icon can also be used to open the FamilySearch screen with the current person in your family file as the focus person.

FamilySearch also offers various free online classes to help you with your family tree.

See https://www.familysearch.org/learn/researchcourses for more information.
